What is a Maryland Motor Tort?
The legal definition of a tort is “a civil wrong,” which can also be referred to as a breach of duty. By extension, a Maryland motor tort is a civil wrong arising from the negligent operation of a motor vehicle. The person who commits a “tortious act,” otherwise referred to as causing a traffic accident, is called the tortfeasor.
